RaonMeta Partners with KAOT to Develop Virtual Training Content

2026.03.26

(Seoul, March 26, 2026) RaonMeta, a subsidiary of RaonSecure, is accelerating its expansion into the virtual training market.

RaonMeta (CEO Soonhyung Lee), a generative AI-based metaverse platform company, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korean Association of Occupational Therapists to jointly develop and expand occupational therapy education content.

The purpose of this agreement is to address the practical limitations of occupational therapist training and continuing education programs through RaonMeta’s platform, “Metademy.” By providing an immersive training environment that combines extended reality (XR) and virtual reality (VR), the initiative aims to support hands-on practice while overcoming the constraints of in-person, group-based training.

In the field of occupational therapy, securing sufficient training environments and hours is essential, as certification requires approximately 320 hours of practical training domestically and up to 1,000 hours under the standards of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) for internationally accredited programs. In response, both parties plan to recreate clinical environments on the Metademy platform and integrate them with the association’s official training curriculum.

Another key aspect of this agreement is the development of practical training content aligned with WFOT certification standards. As WFOT sets the global benchmark for accrediting occupational therapy education programs, securing content that meets these standards will not only support domestic training demand but also enhance global educational competitiveness.

RaonMeta will build a specialized virtual training environment for occupational therapy on the Metademy platform in accordance with these standards. For example, it will enable repeated practice in virtual settings for scenarios such as activities of daily living (ADL) training for stroke patients, cognitive rehabilitation assessments, and the fitting and operation of upper-limb orthoses.

As a result, learners will be able to develop clinical skills and improve proficiency through repeated training without the need for real patients. Experienced occupational therapists will also be able to pre-experience new treatment scenarios in a virtual environment, continuously advancing their expertise.

Content developed through this agreement will be officially recognized as part of the Korean Association of Occupational Therapists’ training programs, establishing a foundation for the Metademy platform to be utilized in occupational therapy education. In addition, both parties plan to accelerate the adoption of XR-based training infrastructure across university occupational therapy departments and major medical institutions nationwide.

Through this collaboration, RaonMeta is expected to expand the reach of its XR training content business in partnership with the association. The Korean Association of Occupational Therapists will also strengthen its global competitiveness by establishing education infrastructure aligned with international standards, providing a practical foundation for its members to advance into global markets.

Wonseok Yoon, Head of Metademy Business Division at RaonMeta, stated, “Occupational therapy requires advanced clinical capabilities to directly support patients’ recovery in daily life, making XR highly valuable in this field. We will continue to develop high-quality educational content across various domains using advanced technologies to enhance on-site training standards.”

Meanwhile, Metademy, an AI and extended reality (XR)-based training platform, has accelerated commercialization following the registration of patents in Korea and the United States for its XR-based animal dissection training content late last year. The platform is also expanding its application into various medical and healthcare fields, including advanced anatomy training and digital therapeutics, further strengthening its position in the medical training market.
